let it snow

Boy it started snowing here about 3 a.m..  How do I know that?  I was ever so lovingly awoken by a passing train, blaring it’s flippin horn.  Grrrr.  So, I knew it was suppose to snow, so I peeked out the window to see if it had dumped the ton of snow we were expecting.  Nope.  Mother Nature had only begun to let it snow.  By the time I got up to start the work day, we had maybe 3 inches of snow.  Mike asked me if it snowed a lot and I said oh yeah…about 2.5-3 inches. LOL  he didn’t find the humor in my statement.

So, get showered and dressed, let JonJon sleep in (he stayed home with Granma and Jim), remote start the car.  While I was letting the car warm up, I had a few texts from one of the gals from work.  She said it had taken her 2 hours to get from her house to Terre Haute.  WOW!  Then I had a missed call from the gal that sits behind me.  Call her back and she was asking how the roads were.  I told her that my road hadn’t been plowed yet.  She said “you’re still home?”  Laughing I replied, Yep.  She was all you’re gonna be late.  Nah.  I only live 1o mins from work and left 20 mins before work started.  Freaking Stacy!!  She jinxed me!! I was 3 minutes late!! DAMN!  oh well.  I stayed late to make up for the time. 

When I left work at 4:45 p.m. it was flippin windy as all get out!  I had to run to Menards and Kroger after work and felt like I was getting blown all over the place!!  I had my hood up, both times, when I got out and it didn’t matter.  The snow still crept into unwanted places.  Brrrrrrrrrrr.  I was getting mad because my glasses kept getting spotted from the snow flakes. 

So, get home and we’re watching the news and the weather guy says we’re suppose to get about 3-5 inches total.  hmmm.  ok.  well we have 3 inches right now.  I don’t want anymore.  lol The temperature is suppose to be 9 degrees tonight.  Brrr twistle!

Monday….

Well, it’s the start of a new day…a new week.  It’s not a good Monday morning either!  I woke up still sick.  JonJon woke up still sick.  Mike woke up still sick.  (starting to see a pattern here).

Yesterday we had our own little super bowl party!  This year, I wasn’t going to be upset if either team won, BUT that being said!!!!!! I”m soooooo happy that the NO Saints won!! WOO HOOO!!!  I jumped up, outta my seat, when Jenkins made the interception that clinched the Saints win!!! WOOO HOOO!!!

I live in Indiana, so I should be a Colts fan, right?  WRONG!!! I”m a Bears fan, thru and thru!  I grew up in IL.  So, it’s been a somber day here at work.  One of the front desk girls here at work is a HUGE Colts fan.  All last week, she wore a different Colts shirt.  I noticed this morning when I came in that she had on pink scrubs.  Ah well.  Maybe next year!

So, here are my brief Not Me Monday moments.  Not Me Monday is brought to you by: MckMamma!

Friday, we did NOT have to bring in JonJon for a NP appointment.  He did NOT have to hav an x-ray and did NOT cry and kept NOT saying he didn’t want to sit on the table for the “picture”.  He DID get to eat an orange popsicle though.

On Friday evening, while leaving work, I did NOT fall flat on my tush!  Nope not me.  I’m always careful!  I did NOT fall and twist my ankle and bruise both my knees!!  Oy!

JonJon does NOT have bronchitis and is NOT on antibiotics for the next 10 days.  Jaime, daycare provider, did NOT text me this morning and say that JonJon did NOT take the medicine for her fine and gave her a high 5, that little stinker!  (He fights with me and Mike now.  Used to be a pro at taking meds.)

I did NOT end up getting the cold that everyone else in the house has.  I did NOT take Nyquil Sinus all weekend and SLEEP.  I ended up NOT napping my meds off on Saturday and Sunday.  JonJon did NOT take a 3 hour nap on Saturday and a 2.5 hour nap on Sunday!

My mother-in-law did NOT get a job with one of the local clinics here in town!! YAY!!!!  So happy for her!  My father-in-law does NOT have an interview today!  Wishing him luck!!!

Finally Friday!

UPDATE:

JonJon has bronchitis    The NP thought it was pnuemonia at first.  He sounds cruddy and the x-ray looked like he had pneumonia, but the radiologist read it as clear.  So, I think what we were seeing was the bronchi all inflamed.  SO, antibiotics for 10 days. 

 

Well, Friday is finally upon us!! WOO HOOO!!! YIPPEE!!!!  not so much…I feel like crap.  Mike and JonJon have been sick for 2 weeks.  JonJon is going to see the NP that works next to our Occ Health Clinic this morning.  I think he might have to have an X-ray.   *Sigh*

Anywho, Elizabeth is filling in for some of the ladies that are at Blissdom this weekend.   So the first thing that she is doing today is Feel Good Friday over at The Girl Next Door Grows Up.

One of her ways to “feel good” is to write about five things that made you happy this week.  Well it’s been a long, tough week.  So, here goes.

1.  I’ve woken up alive so to me that is AWESOME!!!

2.  We didn’t get the HUGE snow storm that we were suppose to have last night.  It’s only raining right now and the snow is suppose to come tonight.

3.  My co-worker, Stacy, always makes me laugh!

4.  JonJon’s hugs and kisses are enough to make anyone happy!

5.  I get to read some fabulous blogs!!!

Totally Thursday

Well, one more day til Friday!  Yay!

A lot of our blogging buddies are at Blissdom while we sit here at work, wishing and dreaming we were there with them!  Oh well

Amanda over at Serenity Now has started a Why my block rocks for those of us that couldn’t make it to Blissdom!

So here are my 5 reasons.. not much but hey they’re mine!

1.  I like to write and this is my way of getting my thoughts out of my head!  This way I can stay sane (somewhat) and try to not totally drive my husband nuts!

2.  I like being able to show off my other writing skills for examiner.com. Terre Haute Working Moms Examiner

3.  I like my layout finally, for WordPress that it is! LOL I’d love to have something even more snazzy but this will do for now!    (sorry Elizabeth..I sort of stole your thought!)

4.  I TRY to tell it like it is.  Try being the operative word.  I like to try to get comments, the few that I do get, but I do like to try to get others involved.  Maybe one day I will be blogfamous like MckMamma!!

5.  I like meeting new people and have met some great ones thru blogging! I’ve gotten to know Matt and Maddy and follow them on their adventures!  Gotten to read about Mike and Heather’s life with their daughter, Maddie, and how they lost her at a very young age, and their happiness of bringing Annie into the world!  Elizabeth made my snazzy button!

So there ya go!  That’s why I think my blog rocks!!!!!  Go me!

Truthful Tuesday

Today’s question from Elizabeth at Confessions is :

If you could “do-over” any one scene in your life… what would it be, and why?

Elizabeth’s answer basically says she’ll stop and look around before her mouth gets her in trouble at work! 

I would have to say that my big mouth has gotten me in trouble a few times. Mostly because I don’t think before I speak when I get upset about something, ESPECIALLY at work.  There was one time about 6 months ago that I was being pulled in a million directions (not really..but it felt like it) and right at the end of the work day, my boss told me to go do a drug screen.  Well just before he told me that, the LPN asked me to call someone back for her, so I went to the nurses station to tell her.. well I was complaining, not loudly mind you, but low and behold boss man comes walking down the hall and saw/heard me complaining to the LPN.    Sooooo, I got an email later that evening from him saying that he was disappointed in me and if my attitude didn’t change well…that actions would be taken.  Well, those actions never came to a head because I check my mouth at the door, so to speak, anymore.  I keep my thoughts to myself and then after I’ve left for the day I let em out!

But, like Elizabeth too, I can think of some things that I might change, but probably wouldn’t because my past has made me what I am today.  Even my first marriage.  Well, I take that back.  I wouldn’t redo that again nor would I redo the relationship I was in before I met Mike.  Ok, I lied.  So there are 3 things LOL. 

Not me Monday

Here we are back to the grindstone on a Monday…again. MckMamma is at it again with the Not Me Monday!  Go on over to her site to see all the Not me’s!!!

On Saturday,  Mike did NOT stay in bed all day, sick from bad sinus congestion.    Me, JonJon, and my in-laws did NOT go to Applebee’s for lunch and then go to Wal-mart to do grocery shopping!  Not me, no way Jose!! I stay home and take care of my sick husband!

JonJon has NOT been sick with a bad cough since the day before his tubes were put in his ears.  We do NOT give him medicine at night so that the poor boy can sleep at night and not cough all night.  (and so that everyone else in the house can sleep too!)

Yesterday, JonJon did NOT go on a date with Nana….kicking and screaming!  Not my son!  He’s the perfect 3 year old little boy, that doesn’t throw fits!  Nana did NOT spoil him with lunch at Applebee’s AGAIN and take him to Wal-mart AGAIN and buy him some toys, popcorn, chips and a kitkat!!!

Today, I did NOT hear my alarm clock because someone else turned my alarm down on Friday.  Not me!  NOpe! I always check to make sure the volumn is up!  (Luckily I woke up on time thanks to a bad dream!)

I did NOT have my work eval done today and was pleasently suprised.

I did NOT wear a white shirt to work to only get some of my lunch on it!  Thankfully, my handy, dandy Tide pen came to the rescue!

Not me Monday…

MckMamma has an update this Monday about their cruise this past week.  But mine aren’t as cool as her updates are! lol

Anyway, we did NOT have to take JonJon to get his second set of tubes in his ears last Friday.  He did NOT do awesome and really didn’t cry like the little boy in the next holding room did. 

Mike and I did NOT fall back to sleep around 12pm on Saturday and sleep for an hour and Mike did NOT get out of bed until about 3 on Saturday.  ( he was sick in his defense)  Luckily, Granma Chris and Jimmy were there to watch JonJon.

We did NOT have awesome weather this past weekend to only wake up to it SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ugh!  Grr!

We did NOT go to Wal-mart and buy things for dinner last night to only decide that we did NOT want to order Chinese food instead.  Nope, we don’t do take out.  We eat healthy every night!

and lastly, I did in fact get some sad news this morning.  A friend of mine, that I’ve known since we were 4 years old and in pre-school, passed away last night.  She had stage 4 brain cancer.  She leaves behind a husband and children.  She’s 32!  Too young.  My age.  Please say a prayer for her family and friends.  Thank you.
